StateLine Cooperative Agronomy/Marketing Internship


StateLine Cooperative is an agricultural cooperative serving Northern Iowa and Sothern Minnesota farmers.  We specialize in agronomy, grain, feed and livestock solutions.


The purpose of this position is to collect information and provide assistance within our precision and agronomy departments. In turn, synthesize this data into marketing and sales materials.  The successful candidate will collaborate with both our Agronomy Sales & Precision Ag team in an energetic and creative atmosphere. This is a paid 12+ week internship.


May train and assist with:

  • Hands-on work experience in agronomy, grain and operations
  • Assist with Crop Scouting to support IPM needs of local sales agronomist.
  • Synthesize data and present day-to-day Taranis reports to sales team
  • Tissue sampling of corn and soybeans throughout the growing season
  • Oversee and evaluate StateLine’s plots for agronomic differences.
  • Seed handling activities in support of StateLine Seed department
  • Asset management activities in support of StateLine logistics/operations department
  • Assist with Summer Drone Trial projects
  • Provide marketing and sales support to the sales team
  • Develop a personal project within the Stateline Cooperative


  • Follow StateLine’s code of conduct and compliance/safety program/OSHA and DOT policies and procedures as they apply.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


    • Must be pursing an ag-related degree at a community college, technical school or land grant university, while being in good academic standing when internship commences.
    • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
    • Demonstrates essential abilities including: communications, bother verbal and written, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
    • Willingness to participate in required training by StateLine &/or selected service providers, as it relates to this position.
    • Ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
    • Ability to work assigned hours due to the nature of our seasonal business cycles.
    • Ability to work in other than normal working conditions occasionally.
  • Must summarize and make a formal (written or oral) presentation to StateLine regarding their Special Project and internship experience.
