Heyl Truck Lines is seeking a professional Driver Manager to help oversee the day-to-day operations of our drivers. As a Driver Manager, you will be responsible for evaluating and verifying individual driver performance, as well as monitoring their driving habits and ensuring that they are aware of all safety regulations. This is a full-time position with benefits and an hourly wage, and we’re looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running with limited training.


  • Develop and maintain a professional association with drivers and vendors.
  • Review dispatch information prior to driver notification.
  • Monitor and respond to messaging from all assigned drivers regarding operations, safety, and maintenance requirements.
  • Assist other management personnel in directing drivers and contractors in completing shipments within federal safety regulations.
  • Assist assigned drivers in planning trips to avoid unnecessary delay/cost to include fueling, routing, weather, weight, expense management for company related costs, so service can be completed as scheduled without violating federal/state regulations.
  • Monitor hours of service status
  • Take a proactive approach to communicate compliance with those regulations to the driver.
  • Monitor and advise customer service of all delays.
  • Review performance with drivers to determine likelihood of meeting bonuses.
  • Monitor idle time, fuel compliance, log violations, and other reports to initiate appropriate action for corrections and coaching.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent communications, written and verbal
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment
  • Proficient supervisory skills
  • Prior working knowledge of freight and logistics preferred
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Regulations preferred


Monday-Friday; 7am – 5pm

Weekend work 1 every 6 weekends
